Our on Site Catering Team Alliance in Partnership (AIP)
The onsite catering team proudly make everything from scratch, including amazing cakes
and even homemade pizza sauce with puréed tomatoes, carrots, onions and lentils to sneak
in some extra 5-a-day nutrition. Theme days are extremely popular and jazz up weekday
lunchtimes, as staff serve exciting menus from around the world. With value for money a
high priority, AIP pays close attention to price sensitivity and ensures that there are always
offers available. The Meal Deal costs just £2.65 which includes a main meal and a dessert.
The canteen operates a Smart Card system which enables students to purchase all their
food and drinks throughout the week without having to handle cash on a daily basis. The use
of the Smart Card system ensures queues at busy times are kept to a minimum and, where
students are entitled to a free school meal, that information will be stored on the card. This
gives pupils entitled to free meals anonymity.

school food goes onto the card. You can top up the card online using the instructions sent
If the card is lost then the balance information stored on the system can be transferred to a
A Smart Card will be given to all new Year 7s at the start of the September term, free of
charge. However if the Smart Card is lost or defaced there will be a £3 charge to replace
it. If you require any further information then please contact Nigel Walsh, our Chef Manager,
on 0121 429 2838. For more information on free meals, please contact the school and ask to
be directed to the finance office. The free meal entitlement is £2.65 per day. Please note if a
student purchases food at break time this will be deducted from their free school meal
allowance leaving them less to spend at lunchtime.
