EDEXCEL
You will explore a wide range of media texts including Beyonce’s Formation video, TV drama The Bridge and the Black Panther marketing campaign. You will engage with the key critical theories and apply them to the media texts you study. You will also learn how to create your own media products using up-to-date digital equipment. By the end of the course you will have developed a wide range of practical skills as well as a keen critical perspective on the media industry and its products.
Why choose this?
If you are interested in the world we live in, have a curious and creative mind, and want to know how the media influences our lives, this is the course for you. You will study all your favourite media forms and make your own media products, as well as developing excellent transferable skills.
A Level media studies open a whole new window into your future opportunities. I’d recommend the subject to anyone who has a creative mind and has wanted to expand on it. Media Studies invites you to see how everything works, and why it works that way; watching a music video, looking at a poster on the wall and wondering how they achieved is fun, but it is nothing compared to being the one who makes products; it’s a different world.
